TJM Carpentry & Joinery
TJM Carpentry & Joinery is a carpentry business serving Berkshire and its neighbouring counties. The company is run by Tom McGarry, an experienced professional who focuses on delivering quality woodwork to his clients.
Clear Design was commissioned to create a new logo design for TJM, which needed to portray the brand as an established, professional service. In order for it to be used on signage, t-shirts, stationary and digital media, it was also essential for the logo to be flexible and to exist in multiple configurations.
Initial logo concepts
Three logo concepts were created in digital form for the carpentry business to feed back on. In a minimal style, the first logo design utilised the image of a carpentry rack to communicate expertise in the trade. The second and third concepts used a typographic approach. Logo concept 2 uses flowing letters with a high-end, premium feel whilst concept 3 used sharp, geometric letters to portray precise woodwork and and building blocks coming together to form something unique and well-crafted.
The final identity
In the final stage of the logo design process, TJM chose their preferred identity concept – the carpentry tools logo. The chosen design was then fine-tuned and delivered in multiple configurations for various stationary, clothing and digital applications. The result of the design process was a professional and reliable brand identity that communicates the precise and well-crafted woodwork that the company offers.
